St. Francis Animal Protection Society is proud to be part of the Pet Food Express Bay Area Pet Fair on October 10-11th, which will feature over 1000 adoptable animals from approximately 70 shelters and rescues in California. We will have an outdoor booth where you can meet some of our adoptable animals, along with advice from our animal behaviorist Shannon Bolt. In addition, the event is an extravaganza for animal lovers. Admission and parking is free and will also features a variety of vendors, activities, food trucks and giveaways. The backdrop for this event is the beautiful Marin Center Fairgrounds located in San Rafael. We hope to see you there! Filomena Farms Spring Social Saturday May 14th, 2016 11:00 AM until 04:00 PM Location: Filomena Farms 95125 Join us for some springtime fun! St. Francis Animal Protection Society is partnering with Ms. Sami Monsur to host the First Annual Filomena Farms Doggy Social. Ms. Monsur’s mission, through her backyard-style dog playground called Filomena Farms, is to provide local dog rescue organizations a safe, controlled, and unique environment for furthering the socialization of their adoptable animals. Doing so will help participating groups’ adoptable dogs become increasingly prepared for their potential forever homes and will make them more desirable to those considering adoption. The grand opening of Filomena Farms is slated for May 14, 2016 and St. Francis APS is excited to be part of the fun. The kickoff celebration will boast festivities reminiscent of a classic springtime backyard barbecue: fresh lemonade, hot dogs, raffle prizes, a silent auction, outdoor family games, music, California sunshine, and of course dogs at play. So grab your family and your favorite furry friend and join us for a fun-filled afternoon benefiting St. Francis APS! West Valley College "Hug a Pup" Tuesday May 24th, 2016 10:30 AM until 02:00 PM Location: West Valley College 95070 See all of the animals attending this event. West Valley College is hosting a "stress-free study snuggle session" and we are invited! College students endure a lot of stress during exam time...know what helps? Snuggling adoptable pups! We are setting up a snuggle pen in the student center where stressed out scholars can decompress a little bit in between cram sessions. Our adoptable dogs are so grateful that they've gotten a second chance at life...they're paying it forward and giving back to the community in their own way! Know a student at West Valley? at 8AM for a fundraiser supporting St. Francis Animal Protection Society!
SFAPS is a nonprofit, foster-based animal rescue organization in Northern California, with most of their rescue activities in the San Jose area. All SFAPS rescue pets live in wonderful foster (temporary) homes while they wait for their forever homes!
Our 5K will have all proceeds directly benefiting St. Francis. This will be a very casual event, and runners and walkers of all abilities are invited to attend! The 5K will be held on the Los Gatos Creek Trail, starting at the Pruneyard.
There will be no water stops along the way, so be sure to bring a bottle of water if you think you will need it. There will also be no chip timing, but we will let you know your time as you cross the finish line. You can find a course map here: http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/1085339392. After the race we will have a potluck, so we are encouraging everyone to bring a dish to share!
We will be meeting behind the office buildings near the far entrance to the parking garage!
This is a free event, but we are very thankful for any donations you can contribute to St. Francis. They are a wonderful organization that does some terrific work in the community for rescue animals.
