Maltese Mix
Kanoa is housebroken but not crate trained. He barks when strangers arrive or he is left alone, his foster mom is working with him on this.
Kanoa loves to go for walks and does well on a leash. He enjoys car rides, running, and playing outside. He is not a huge fan of baths or strangers when he first meets them, but will warm up quickly and want to play!
Kanoa's favorite toy is his stuffed froggy. He can be quite a ham and will crawl up to you on his belly to talk to you. He loves having a nice soft bed and is a sweet, adorable guy!
Kanoa does well with both children and adults, but should be careful until he has fully healed from his injuries. Kanoa does well with dogs his size, but he has not been around cats.
Other info - Kanoa is Hawaiian for "the free one". This poor little dog was literally broken and with little chance of making it out of the shelter alive. He had pelvic fractures and was in a lot of pain. St. Francis rescued him and got him the treatment he needed (including surgery) and his foster mom provided all of the TLC. He is now fully healed and ready for a new chapter in life. He is a neutered male, approximately 5 years old, and weighs 12 pounds. If you want to meet Kanoa, please contact St. Francis Animal Protection Society.
His hair will grow back - he was super shaggy at the shelter, but was shaved for the surgery due to all of the mats, etc. More about KanoaGood with Dogs, Good with Kids
