Jersey is a 16-month-old English Mastiff that was born on September 5th, 2010. She is a beautiful, gentle, giant weighing in at 167 pounds and about 6ft long, fully stretched out. She is spirited, loving, playful, lazy and sweet all at the same time. Jersey is the product of mom, Gracie, English Mastiff (150 pounds) and dad, Bosco, English Mastiff (250) pounds that is not a typo. We dont anticipate Jersey getting any bigger than she already is! Jersey is not a drooler as you would expect a Mastiff to be. She only drools when food is present or after she drinks water. Speaking of water, Mastiffs will NOT drink their own drool so their water bowl needs to be changed 2 times a day, I usually just clean it out every time I feed her or right after a walk before she drinks. I keep wash clothes handy to wipe her mouth (which we will provide) but its been days since I have wiped her mouth come to think of it.really when food is around. Jersey should NOT be given any people food (not that she hasnt eaten it, its just really bad). She eats Innova and usually has a raw egg or can of wet food in with it warm water at the least. I should really nix the wet food she is chunky.Jersey sleeps most of the day inside or out depending upon the weather (I baby her and dont like to leave her outside if its too cold) She has never slept outside over night, she is not an outside dog and would cry all night if left outside. She sleeps wherever she sees fiton the couch, in our bed, with our kids and on your lap if you are in her way. She even sits on the couch like a human. I am not opposed in any way to breaking these habits and her being told your house your rules!, I just havent bothered because I like her lying next to me watching tv or in my bed in the morning to cuddle I know this all sounds ridiculous and believe me I have dragged her off the couch and beds many time in an effort to get ready for a party or company and she is fine to be dragged off and will stay on the floor if consistently told. Jersey also snores like a human drives my husband nuts which I find interesting because he snores louder than her! I should be the only one annoyed. I can hear her snoring in the other room as I type this. She loves kids and dogs, but is scarred of cats and does not like the mailman. Family is transferred to Singapore and needs to give her up.
