*Important* If you are interested in adopting Nancy, please fill out an application at stfrancisanimal.org/info/adoption. She will be available to go to her forever home after April 28th.

Nancy is a very affectionate and playful 5 month old pom/corgi/maltese super mutt who came from a house with many many other dogs and cats. Everything is new and overwhelming for Nancy!  She loves running, going for neighborhood walks, and playing in the rain. She is tiny but her heart is big- Nancy is a "velcro dog" and does not like to be left alone. She isn't destructive when left alone but does bark and whine excessively. We highly recommend that her family should continue training to work on her seperation anxiety. She's great with kids and has fantastic bite inhibition for a mouthy, teething puppy. Potty training and crate training is also a work in progress, but she's doing great so far! Her foster has been hard at work teaching her how to be a good puppy.

She has grown up with cats but gets excited and chases them playfully. Potential adopters should be aware that their resident cats might not find this fun- the cats in her foster home tolerate it. She takes a while to warm up to other small dogs and is terrified of bigger dogs (which is displayed by shaking and barking, but not biting). She gets along okay with the other dogs in her foster home, but a slow introduction to new dogs is required.

Nancy's perfect home would be someone patient, with puppy experience. She'd really benefit from training classes with a professional. Because of her difficult puppyhood, we would not recommend her to a first time dog owner.
