Papa Luca's so giant he could pass for a wild cat. In fact, he was once living on the streets and mistakenly deemed feral. When he was 2, a rescuer plucked him off the streets because a colony is no place for a gentle giant like him. Now 11, Papa's at a bit of a crossroads. He needs a new place to call home. Until recently, he had a home of his own and a person who loved him dearly. And then everything changed -- his human mom hit hard times. So, we're helping Papa find his way home.

Hint, hint ... there's this sweet old cat we know.

Papa's a total heartthrob -- even non-cat people swoon over him. What's not to love about a low-maintenance cat who loves movie marathons, couch surfing, and snuggles? He's an all around cool cat  -- he digs people young and old, dogs large and small, and has even made friends with a frog or two. (He's been known to squat in his former frog brother's terrarium ... if he fits, he sits. Yada, yada, yada.)

There's one important thing Papa wants you to know. He's FIV positive, which means his immune system isn't as strong as it should be. So he's an indoor cat and should stay that way because he's more susceptible to kitty colds, bad teeth, and fungal infections. It doesn't mean his life will be short (They often live long, happy, healthy lives.) It doesn't mean other cats will get it too. (FIV is transmitted by deep bite wounds. No cat fights, no problem!).

Do an old guy a solid -- give Papa a chance. He's fixed, chipped, and vaccinated. He's been deflead, dewormed, and tested for negative for FELV.  His tax-deductible adoption donation is $75.

You can meet Papa at  Andy's Pet Shop  in Downtown San Jose, where he's waiting patiently with his sister, Dharma.
