Licorice and Pepper were two brothers rescued from the bale of hay in the feed store. Liz and Seppi Lin fostered them until they were old enough to be adopted. This adorable photo of them prompted Wilma and Evan Peers of Redwood City to know that these were the cats for them. They had just lost their two cats at the age of twenty. Now known as Kenzo and Kozmo, Wilma says that she and her husband hate going to sleep at night because watching the kittens play and then turning out the lights is like turning off a good movie before it ends!
Lulu was found in East San Jose, lactating with a telephone cord around her neck. Only because we thought someone might be looking for her, we brought her to the Animal Shelter and kept close tabs. After a week, no one had claimed her. We bailed her out and Meg Flavin of Las Gatos offered to take Lulu and work with her. Lulu was terribly insecure, but incredibly sweet. Meg worked endlessly to teach Lulu to trust and we ended up placing her with some friends of Meg's who had been searching for a perfect fit for them, and decided that Lulu would be the one!
Caesar was spotted in some bushes in a movie theater complex adjacent to Highway 101 in mid-July. He and his brother were trapped and relocated to a foster home. Caesar was adopted by Julie and Dan Rembold of San Jose who say that they have never seen a happier kitten. The Rembold's have also become cat foster parents for us and Caesar has become the ambassador of good will, breaking in all the "newbies" and introducing them to a world of cat condos and fun cat games.
